I also don’t think it’s bad when people want to spend some of their income on fun things, and the burger flipper should be paid enough that he can do whatever he wants with some spare cash after bills. Thinking leisure is for the wealthy alone is an elitist viewpoint.

That's kind of the whole point of having a job and I can't believe this is considered a radical position.🤷🏽♀️

genuinely baffles me when a writer tries to show how boring a person is by going 'ohh he just wants to drone on and ON about typefaces/types of glass/some niche facts we are meant to find dull' would you not be thrilled to go to a dinner party and find someone who wants to tell you about niche facts

Yup. I know exactly how tankies recruit on China, because there is a lack of tolerance for nuanced opinions on modern China in many circles, and reasonable opinions/inconvenient facts are often shouted down. So of course some people see this and become negatively polarized
