The author on my last book proactively gave me a timeline and it was very useful. 😊

Reading an article where a US academic has marked every instance of UK spelling from quoted materials with [sic]. 🥴
I've seen people trying to defend it today by saying "No, no, I just use it to brainstorm, bounce ideas, I do the actual writing" and with all the kindness in the world I need to tell you: if there is a stage of writing you are not good at, you need to get good, not use the plagiarism machine.

Full stop No. This is a lie peddled for normalization. It's schoolyard-level pressure tactics "C'mon, all the cool kids are already doing it. We won't tell. It's fine. We're on your side."
Semi-regular reminder that I will never quote my clients' writing on the internet (1) without their permission or (2) for the purposes of complaining about/making fun of the people I work with. Not sure why I see so much of this. #AmCopyediting
