There was a Lain exhibit, & I realized a CRT setup either needs to be 100% square & symmetrical, or messy as shit. Anything in the middle is just extra noise. It's kind of like how nobody talks about "mid" anime. You want something to go fully in one direction. The middle ground is where it sucks

I think it's the Bookshelves that make it lame? Like having 10 TVs playing an anime is cool, but the second you see a DVD shelf & some figurines it tips into being sad. Someone explain this.
