I don't really want OpenAI and Anthropic to own all the compute. I think that's a bad equilibrium. I also think it's comically stupid for large groups of people to run giant servers at home -- power, transmission. Gains to scale are real.

That most such products are slop is just proof that you still can't buy taste, not that the engineering paradigm doesn't work. A technically impressive plumbus, while useless, remains technically impressive.
