Where there is life, there is happiness.

I hope that every Seattle and king county elected is getting their shit together RIGHT NOW to fight for trans kids here as they get fucked over in Washington state. We need new local legislation TOMORROW

This is a mandate for impeachments, abolishing ICE, prosecuting corruption, investigating DOGE and demolishing whatever wedding cake monstrosities get built before the family flees to some jurisdiction without an extradition treaty

I don’t understand how copyright of code really matters anymore, it barely did already. IP copyrights, closed source, NDA, trademarks, service moats… when was the last time code copyright mattered for something a big company did?

I sold my first piece of software 46 years ago, at 13 years old. (Written in 6502 assembly language). I agree with most of what you've written here. There's no moat anymore around SaaS. Anyone who has used Salesforce can use an LLM to write a 95% version that's personalized to them.

"Deliberately to revert to primitive methods to use archaic took, to put silly little difficulties in your own way, would be a piece of dilettantism, of pretty-pretty arty and craftiness. It would be like solemnly sitting down to eat your dinner with stone implements....

Two things are true: 1. Claims about AI capabilities are overblown 2. AI has completely revolutionized software development, and will do the same to many other fields I'm a software developer by trade. I'm going to attempt to explain what this revolution feels like "from the inside".

I don't actually believe this, if only because I think the actual root of all reactionary thought is Terminal Abstraction Brain. you just have to be screening your thoughts and hitting yourself over the head if you find yourself getting angry or sad over blurring of "natural categories"
