you think the *accelerationists* are the extremists but then supposed AI moderates come out with a plan that is just “nuke China” “form global super police” “suppress dissent at home and abroad” “do regime change” It’s the Monroe Doctrine for AI safety.

seems bad

For the most part politicians have basically done nothing but nonstop degrade the memory of the 9/11 victims by either doing insane shit while invoking them or by invoking them to defend other people doing insane shit. So it makes sense that racists are mad at Mamdani for respecting the victims.

See, this is wrong. George W. Bush is responsible for at least an order of magnitude more suffering in the world than Trump has "accomplished" (at least so far.) White Americans tend to think W wasn't as bad as Trump because his policies mostly led to mass death, torture & worse "over there"

We talk about how W was so much better than Trump (and he was) but you can draw a straight line through W's bombastic appeal to the lowest common denominator and Trump

Lily Wachowski is so cool. Most celebrities use high profile interviews to be like "it was such a pleasure to work with so and so on such and such" and she's like "JK Rowling funds trans genocide and Elon Musk is a fascist misrepresenting my work to destroy the planet" Let her make more movies.

Elections are when trans people have the most leverage to ensure our voices are heard. And we're going to make them heard as Seth Moulton found out last week. We are not going back.

And when they try to blackmail us by saying republicans would be worse, we see what trans people in the UK are going through. It's even worse than the US in many ways. So that blackmail isn't going to work. Our votes are our only leverage and with many races decided by a point or less, we matter.

Once again this isn't like gay marriage. We're not asking for something new. We're asking not to lose rights we've had for decades. When Dems say they agree with enacting new restrictions on trans people, that's a betrayal. They are actively going out of their way to harm trans people.

The Labour Party did this. That's why trans people are pushing back on Dems capitulating on trans issues. We have seen what happens when the liberal party abandons trans people after saying you must vote for them or it without be worse under a conservative government.

A trans man in the UK has been banned in the workplace restrooms after he was forced to use the women's restrooms to comply with the new EHRC guidance. The women complained because he is visibly male and so they told him he can't use any bathroom.

A screenshot of a Reddit post from the r/LegalAdviceUK subreddit by user Dijstraanon, titled "FtM transgender facing two different issues at work? England."
The post text reads:
"Brother in law is trans FtM and presents fully as a man. He's now facing an impossible situation at work with his employer telling him that due to recent legislation he must use the toilet of his birth gender. BUT several female colleagues have raised a grievance about him using their gendered toilet.
His employer has told him that he cannot use the toilet while he is at work until they sort it out and cannot give him a timeframe to do so. They do [cut off] have disabled separate toilets.
In the mean time one of his female colleagues has accused him of sexual harassment because he was used their gendered toilet. His menstrual cycle meant he needed to use the toilet.
He's been with the employer for just over 5 years but only in this location for 18 months. The location is mainly male with just a handful of females, and his workshop only has male toilets.
I do not know how to support him and as he's not in a union there is no one to turn too right now."

every year i make a joke about 9/11 and at least 1 person will get mad, so i'm preempting that to say yes the deaths of innocent new yorkers obviously was terrible, but doesn't come close to the overreaction and reactionary destruction of us society and all the wars since in my generation's lifetime

To beat femininity out of boys, to make boys believe and uphold that they are different from girls, can be nothing like girls, and are entitled to extract certain things from girls. "Male socialization" is enforcing sex differentiation, a violence that queer boys and trans girls bear the brunt of.

last repost is that people generally need to completely undo what they think "the whole goal of the socialization of boys into men" is, etc

it's a different & delayed context, but the whole process of "socializing" boys into men is the process of killing any potential trans girls. that's what all the rejection of "girly stuff" & "effeminacy" and creating brotherhoods to hunt out transfemininity and kill it early is.
