Some people have reduced their own value to what can be accomplished with a computer, and consider anything that can match their limited capabilities to be as human as they are.

Guys I hate to break it to you, but under capitalism, automation improves productivity but doesn't actually reduce the amount of time workers must work to survive. Instead, productivity gains are captured as profit. Only worker organizing will reduce our labor time. Yes, this applies to 'AI'

I wish I could say waking up at 12:30 and tossing and turning until my alarm goes off at 5am was an unfamiliar occurrence.

In his Second Discourse, Rousseau talks about how man was born free and able to live off the bountiful food that surrounded him in nature and then he was plucked from this state and introduced to society, where he was forced to labor. IG riverreachconstruction
I feel like I should just YOLO it and start running Claude/Codex directly on my machine and have it just use my creds like everyone else. It's just too hard to set up and maintain proper creds and sandboxes for them.
What's nice is that my Go repo template runs go fix with autofix.ci so when renovate creates me a PR, code for my projects is modernized automatically. github.com/ianlewis/rep...

the @cloudflare.social Connect site has a toy feature where you can spraypaint on parts of the design. the spray sound pans left or right depending on where you're spraying, which is such a nice little touch www.cloudflare.com/connect/
Love how this dude discovered the cheat codes of "what if I listened to constituents" and "what if I modeled good behavior" and "maybe I behave like a normal person should." These are apparently dark secrets that have been hidden from other politicians.
I'm listening, I'm learning. Safety first, NYC.
There's so many things wrong I don't know where to begin. The humongous Tokyo Tower, huge rainbow bridge, and tiny Sky Tree are just hilarious though. F- AI generated content. www.youtube.com/shorts/hIeJH...

Google always seems to have the approach of generating code for client libraries and modules which constantly breaks. This makes it so that simply adding field to the library is this long drawn out process of generating code into multiple repositories.
この間、動物病院に行った時に、リバビリ専門家が熊本に住むお母さんのマンションの写真を見せてくれたけど、壁や床をスレッジハンマーを使ってぶっ壊された様子だった。日本の地震怖い。
Recently released footage shows the moment an earthquake struck Kumamoto General Hospital in Yatsushiro, Kumamoto Prefecture, during surgery on July 28, as doctors immediately protect the patient and nurses scramble to secure an evacuation route.
And with that all the old guard technical leadership is gone. Google has been changing slowly over time and it was bound to happen eventually, but Google's early years are officially over. blog.google/company-news...

Today, Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai shared some changes with Google DeepMind teams.

Before Bluesky, never in my life have I been in the middle of using an app when it up and tells me my session has expired and kicks me out to the login screen.
Every time I see an AI generated issue or PR it's extremely long winded, my eyes just glaze over. I just read an issue, that could be summarized in about 4-6 sentences but was about 15 paragraphs with multiple sections.
never thought short form video would be able to capture a type of humor i can only describe as “the far side-esque” but this comes close.
Gentle reminder: if you expose any kind of non-trivial protocol to the internet, you probably want to have the processes sandboxed (containers don't count).
I know it’s not most folks‘ primary concern, but LLMs or not, I’m unimpressed by how soft these infrastructure services are. What do you mean HF had a Jinja2 template injection. And I’m still not over GitHub’s unsandboxed RCE. Geomys might need to self-host code/CI to avoid a weak link.
I couldn't be at KubeCon Japan today but I'll be there tomorrow. I'm sure I'll miss all the folks I know who are traveling as they skip the 2nd day to go partake in the rest of Tokyo 😅
It's wild to me that ghcr *still* does not have any good authentication methods.
Man, do I wish there were an easier way to list pods on node with kubectl rather than using field-selector every time. I hate creating bash aliases since I can never remember them.
The whole economy is slowly morphing until it only serves rich people.
Please. By all means, put down your phone, go outside, and breath in that sweet, sweet particulate matter.
MAGA cultist Eric Metaxas was outraged by seeing an air quality alert triggered by the Canadian wildfires that suggested people limit outdoor activity: "How dare they say that. Who has the right to tell me or you or anyone anything? It's a free country. I can do whatever I want."
I'm so glad this is not my current reality. I would quite literally become a climate migrant because my body would not be able to stand this. My home would become unlivable. I can't imagine what it would take to clean it up.
what do you MEAN the AQI is over 600
So much AI created documentation is just incomprehensible. It uses words and uses reasonably correct grammar but uses incomprehensible words and phrases. There is often little information about why the software exists, and what (ideally human) problems it's intended to solve.
I was just thinking this. I'm still using GitHub, but I've left Twitter, I don't use Facebook, I increasingly don't like Bluesky. The mood just feels very negative and gloomy. The most pressing things are not even being talked about let alone addressed. The world has its priorities all wrong.
The Internet is truly dying. I don't wanna use Twitter, I don't wanna use GitHub, I don't wanna use YouTube, I don't wanna use any of the websites I used to use regularly. I have no place to go. The Internet feels like giant wasteland...
Since naming your company Palantir, or tweeting images of the Death Star aren't obvious enough, I think the next major AI model should be named Belphegor.
