Started this and it's rad! The first "boss" took almost an hour. It was in the open world with this giant golem (an "Ark"). Taking potshots, climbing him to attack weak spots, then retreating to heal and also getting harried by random enemies. Haven't had a fight this freeform since Dragon's Dogma.

And even bigger still, Eternal Strands is still WILDLY undersold for how good it is. A team of Ex-Bioware and Ex-Ubisoft people got together to make a mix of Shadow Of The Colossus, extraction shooter, RPG and physics-based wizarding sim. Gorgeous too! It is absolutely worth the sub $10 price tag.

Just finished up @polyarcgames.com 's Moss 1 & 2 via PSVR2 on PC. Phenomenal all around and I highly recommend them for anyone with a VR setup, especially if you're new to it. Honestly felt a little sad when it was over, had to load up a save and give Quill a few parting rubs before I shut it off 🤣

Retrospace demo has me thinking about leaning in games. Thief 1/2 and System Shock 2 really spoiled us in that department. I've played a lot of games over the years and to date I've not encountered a lean as good as those games had. Even Deus Ex, landmark game that it was, has a *terrible* lean.

Retrospace demo is awesome. Anyone who liked System Shock 2 or the 2017 Prey should take a look. Though I will say that it doesn't even come close to dethroning Thief 1/2 and SS2 for having the best lean ever. This is more Deus Ex "camera pivots to one side" store.steampowered.com/app/2783450

Sorry, maybe I shouldn't say this but ahahah. I am very angry. So I went to Xbox's Fan Fest event to attend a preview event. And it was the most flagrant display of wealth imaginable. Five stories filled with caterers and hundreds of smiling faces there to assure me of the brand's strength.

Wow, looking at Steam it seems there's exactly one option for buying the new 007 game. Even though it's $70 it's a nice change from the absolute cluster that the last few Hitman games have been. I'm still not 100% clear on what stuff I've got in Hitman 3... er, I mean "World of Assassination"

It's not just consoles either. I'm looking at the price of PC hardware as well and thinking I'm just going to be sitting it out for the duration unless I have to replace something that breaks. Just going to hammer away at the 'ol backlog which is literally long enough to last until I turn to dust

Certainly at risk of doing so. Already seen sales slowdowns across both XBS and PS5 following price increases, and Nintendo has signaled it expects the same for Switch 2 this fall. I imagine the June hardware results will shock a lot of people. Shrug. www.gamespot.com/articles/gam...

Just finished Mixtape. A little bit mixed (ha!) feelings on this one -Completely nails the vibe -It's *very* short -Decent price, especially with the launch discount -It's more a slightly interactive story than a game -(personal) Being a death metal kid from the '90s the music didn't do it for me

Just looked at the achievement list for Pragmata and saw this. From everything I've heard about percentages of people who get even halfway through games, much less complete them, 30.7% seem like a *really* high completion rate. Which is great tbh.

Loving Pragmata. I think I'm about to wrap up the first playthrough here shortly. The people saying it was 10-12 hours were very wrong though. I'm at 35 hours so far and while I did grind a little it wasn't for 15+ hours lol.
