A significant part of me thinks we should move away from “scenario” based projections, and focus on warming levels (“at 2C warming the world will look like…”). The experiment protocols don’t necessarily need to change, just how we present the output

Genuine question for any #arctic experts; does Lake Huron actually ice shelves? An ice shelf -typically 100s of meters thick and thousands of km in area - is the floating extension of a glacier or ice sheet. This sounds more like a chunk of lake ice that broke off. bbc.com/news/article...

I’m currently getting “friendly reminders” to complete my assessments of FT applicants. I was thinking of submitting them them 2 months late and just doing 67% of the assessment. Because who am I to argue with the ARC standard…?

The ARC “did not respond to questions about the reasons for the length of the delays or on how the changes will affect researchers’ planning”. I reckon they haven’t thought that far ahead.
