When I first heard ‘No Scrubs’, I thought the line ‘A scrub is a guy who can’t get no love from me’ was them explaining the word ‘scrub’ and it seemed like the stupidest tautology ever. It wasn’t until I was maybe in my mid 20s that I realised it was a different kind of tautology.

When artists and labels say "I love Bandcamp", ask yourself - who even are they any more? How many of the original staff who made it such a great platform still work there? Who even owns them now, after they've been bought/sold more times than we can count? Sorry to everyone who lost their jobs 💙

my 13 years at bandcamp are coming to an end - i’ve been laid off along with most of the remaining engineers. best job i’ve ever had, working with the best people you could ever work with. unceremonious end to quite a ride.

This is horrible, horrible news. One of the most important figures in Doctor Who, the man who headed up the expanded universe for nearly 20 years, made the EDAs good, and created the Jago & Litefoot series for Big Finish. RIP Justin Richards.

Justin Richards was a master plotter, writer of suspense, and creator of my single favourite run of Doctor Who. He gave exciting stories to a broken boy who needed then more than ever. RIP, Justin.

There are no working musicians on the boards of Spotify, Soundcloud, or Bandcamp (Songtradr) How does that make any sense?

Heads up brummies - cherry reds is being review bombed by fascists as they refused service to some anti-immigrant protestors yesterday. If you’ve ever had a nice drink or meal there then maybe today’s a good day to leave your own review.

Potentially one could broadcast radio waves to people with individual receivers. It would be difficult to choose exact songs but you could tune your receiver to someone who usually plays music that you like. You could even phone them up and “request” a particular song
