Likely another example of how one party's decision to use AI creates additional work for other people who aren't even using it. (I don't know OP's job, but a leader who says that "we" have a presentation is likely going to pull in other people)
My leader has been using Gemini to read his emails, create task lists, due dates, and assignments. Yesterday, he realized that we have a C Suite level presentation TODAY. The automation he was relying on had not even acknowledged the email(s) about it. I'll cry happy tears when it's gone away.
If AI disappeared tomorrow, it would be way easier for me to get through the workday because I wouldn't have to constantly be vigilant for and clean up after other people's AI slop! Imagine a world where you can *just* do your work that you're paid for using the right tools for the job!
My answer is LOL ROFL (dickbrain) The terminally AI-pilled can't even *imagine* some people have *never* asked stochastic parrots to cheat at their job for them.
An interesting thing about this conversation about what has/hasn't improved since 1986: There is little to no connection between what has gotten worse and what has gotten better. Like, the things that have gotten worse are not particularly a price of admission for the things that have gotten better
Do we know if Rage Against the Machine is a noun or a verb?
The ability to just casually listen to a song you don't own and have never heard before. Time was, you'd need to gain access to the album or wait to hear it (maybe request it) on the radio. Later, you'd need to find it on usenet or napster, or buy it on itunes Now it's a quick google away.
Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.
I fear this will somehow turn into me no longer being able to play the Sims games that I already own on disc
EA officially goes private tonight, meaning: - EA will no longer trade on the NASDAQ for the first time in 36 years - All stockholders of EA (including many employees) will receive $210/share - EA will take on $18 billion (!) in debt, putting it on the hook to pay ~$1.8 billion/year in interest
Finally 24 hours without menstruating (for the first time in over a month) and now...what feels like menstrual cramps in my lower back???
I know a person surnamed Duckworth and a person surnamed Duckless and I want them to hug and see if it would be like an antimatter explosion negating their existence and leaving behind a single duck
(content note: pee and poo, urine and feces) One thing I'm struggling with as I try to train my body to tolerate a full bladder for an ultrasound is that filling my bladder makes me hyperaware of the contents of my bowels, even if I have emptied out as completely as possible beforehand.
We need a lot less “When I went through X it was ugly and brutal, but I survived, and made me strong!” and a lot more “When I went through X it was ugly and brutal, and no one else should ever have to suffer like that, how do we fix it?”
After 18 hours of stage 2 labor and a trip to the e-vet for oxytocin and monitoring, Loaf had 8 beautiful puppies yesterday. She is doing an excellent job as a first time mom and all babies have gained weight on their day-old weigh in.
I wish lying in bed, doing nothing, idly drifting in and out of sleep or maybe just thinking, was even half as tempting at bedtime as it is in the morning
If you have the knowledge/skill/expertise to accurately detect the errors, then AI would add no value for you. Typing up an outline and flesh it out with specifics from known good sources would be just as fast and easy (and probably faster and easier) for you than fact-checking the AI output
So, ok, a thing about telling yr audience "i use AI for my info gathering/research but then I look over it and fix any errors" is that you unfortunately told me youve outsourced your knowledge base on this subject to the machine, and therefore I have no reason to believe you CAN catch those errors
Imagine being the committee meeting where they decide which character will be human in muppet movies!
The critically endangered Red Wolf pups are growing up fast! At 3 months old, this playful pack is getting bigger, bolder and more curious every day. Sound on to hear mom and dad's "that's enough" correction vocalizations. It's one of the ways Red Wolf parents communicate.
Hero shit
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
All the towels got tangled up in the fitted sheet, which then got tangled up in the duvet cover (yes, I zipped it closed before I put it in the wash!) and took me 20 minutes to untangle, and was too heavy when wet for me to actually lift - I had to kind of roll it out of the machine onto the floor
Pike's bar cart thingy seems uncomfortably low for him #StarTrekStrangeNewWorlds
Kirk sounds like he has a sore throat #StarTrekStrangeNewWorlds
Golly, I wonder if this has anything to do with how, not too long ago, they were encouraging people to use AI to write their posts and also to use AI to comment on other people's posts
LinkedIn added an "AI slop" button. The U-Turn is happening, expect to see a lot more of this from other tech companies.
