LFC, Nuggets, All human lives are of equal worth

#LFC fans: if, before the deadline, the club manage to: - Buy Barcola and Mbaye - Sell Gakpo and Jones - Buy Zubarnyi - Keep everyone else ... would you see that as an acceptable transfer window?

I mean, look at Britain. Does it look like a country where an irreverent, irrepressible, iconoclastic free press pushes back against the powerful, in the interests of the average punter? I would say: LOL no it does not.

Not upset about the score. Given the strength of the two squads at this stage in pre-season it was always likely that Leeds would come into the game as it wore on. Lots to be happy with in this match.

A few facts about Water Nationalisation. 1. We don't need to pay for it. 2. We don't need to pay THEIR debts. 3. They don't invest anything, that is YOUR money that they steal almost all of, then the tiny bit they don't is 'investment'. Freeze bills, fine them. Nationalise for free.

Have you noticed how disability benefits are now being treated in public discussion as if they are simply unemployment benefits? An increasing sleight of hand and the politicians, journalists and commentators doing it need to be challenged.

The main parties and the press can’t build anything the public like or want - could not do it, in a trial of one thousand years. But they absolutely can rend a bunch of left wing environmentalists to death in a truly despicable all-media hate campaign, until the public are puking blood with fury.

As Ed Miliband leaves his post as energy and net-zero secretary, a final tally: There have been an incredible 251 newspaper editorials attacking him and his approach to net-zero since the start of 2024 That amounts to two editorials a week, mainly in the Sun, Daily Mail, Times and Daily Telegraph.

cumulative line chart showing that UK newspapers have published 251 editorials criticising Ed Miliband since the start of 2024

All I know is that I try to always consider the latent ways growing up under capitalism poisons our perspectives wrt every day human interaction. How it can make everything transactional if you let it. Relationships. Dignity. Basic rights. It fucks up your clarity. Distances you from what matters.

Thing is, it would have been so, so easy to wash this stink off. Trans people and & progressives are desperate for hope. I think people would have been very willing to give him a chance to start fixing this, and quite a lot of grace in the meantime. But apparently, even a symbolic change too much.

🚨 Bridget Phillipson remains as the Minister for Women and Equalities After FWS Phillipson publicly stated that trans women should use men's toilets. She recently signed into force harmful & discriminatory statutory guidance which will devastate trans lives. Suggests no change re. trans rights.

The UK media looks like the media they’d create for a dystopian satirical film set in the future where the media has been captured by three billionaire right wing bigots and reproduce their views to distract from their wage suppression and wealth extraction which is causing the planet to burn. Oh.
