I feel a bit sick, but I’m physically fine - I just have a sick feeling. Good Morning! Happy Friday! 🤪

Language: English …but use the British flag because (obviously), there’s only one version of English! 😬 Currency: U.S. Dollars because, despite the flag of the language choice, you appear to be in the U.S. 🤦♂️ (while technically correct - in the U.S. - the previous flag for the language is nonsense)
Sorry, which Civil War? I hope this wasn’t calling the American Civil War the only civil war, but… 🤷🏻♂️ Be more specific; the U.S. is not the only place - it never was and never will be.
the lesson of the Civil War is that aesthetic warrior-cult societies get their shit rocked by schoolteachers and store clerks who'd much rather be doing anything else
The hardest part of flying home from Japan is adjusting to the time change. For example in Tokyo I got to experience a future where everyone deserves dignity but I’m flying back to a country intent on pushing itself back to the 1950s. It’s hard to adjust your watch to that.
Goddamnit! I have one of their cases for my keychain AirTag, and after a tonne of research, found it’s the best on the market… but now I’m just embarrassed to use their products!
This company makes a cute little tool for silencing AirTags and they absolutely do not care that they are helping people to create perfect stalking devices. sixcolors.com/post/2026/10...

New from @timnitgebru.blacksky.app and me: "It is high time for us to regulate usage of systems sold as “AI”, not because they are magical machines, but because they are error-prone products that shouldn’t be used in high stakes scenarios." www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

men: steal this one weird trick to stamp out sexism sssssssssss
My husband and his friends realised they thought they were good guys but still made like, ironic-sexist jokes. They introduced the 'sexism snake' where wherever one of them made a sexist comment or joke, the others would just start hissing. Didn't need to get into an argument about it, just hissing.
Did you know I sell pumpkin carving stencils on my Etsy? I have K-Pop Demon Hunters, D&D, kitties, and cryptid themed downloads for sale! (SO many people have copied my Derpy stencil with AI, please buy the original if you're looking for cute pumpkins!) www.etsy.com/shop/mtnques...
I keep coming back to this clip against the background of AI companies infesting higher education. And I feel like I need to show this in class to students, for them to understand why not to trust these bastards
Upside down, by the ankles, and then treat him like a piñata.
i love that the prevalence of slop is making some people actually be creative and be like…idk man i can’t afford a designer and i won’t use AI so i wrote this flyer on notebook paper with a sharpie. i printed out a google doc and placed it on my cat

Again I am begging all LEGIT people running cons, signings, talks, events, etc. to stop using Ai to write your emails. What's happening is ALL THE SCAMMERS/CONMEN are ALSO using it, and so your emails are basically indistinguishable from them. They give off slop vibes EVEN IF YOU ARE LEGIT.
Note some of the minor headlines too, re: feminism or something
Another day, another workplace injury! Been in the wars lately (occupational hazard)
If you're going to have an online presence, I really, really recommend buying your own domain name. If you move between platforms over the years your address stays the same, you can build trustworthiness on your own merits and no one else owns your blog address or can hijack it if you leave.
Some mornings, I wake up and think, ‘Why?’ for everything. Like, why, why, why, why, why? Some days I barely ask why about anything.
hey friends, a little reminder that I'm available for part time freelance UX/product work. Discovery, research, strategy, ops. I have been told I am a goddamn delight to work with and I will make you some amazing custom playlists.
AI* alone is not going to be the end us; what’s depressing is that that the very human actions and inactions that accompany it are doing the most damage. Humans are shit is not a surprise, but still, we’re just trying to pretend it’s not happening! 😳 *Machine Learning algorithms.
“Let me make it clear: without people at the top of their game sharing their experience and knowledge—regardless of whatever ‘game changing’ technology is in place—we are pulling up the ladders and committing our industry to stagnation and death.” bell.bz/youll-miss-p...

Ever since Piccalilli started to get traction, I’ve always seen CSS-Tricks, Smashing Magazine and A List Apart (among others) as peers. We all help each other behind the scenes and importantly, back…
