All the stupidity over schools outing kids to parents have made it alarmingly clear how many parents DO seem to think of their kids as property. As a parent I find that appalling. I don't own my children. I'm more like...their immediate supervisor.
Kids in general are way more self-aware than we give them credit for, and society writ large beating any perceived nonconformity out of them is the problem, not that kids and teenagers don’t know things. We need a world where children are people, not property.
Turns out we are exactly who we say we are, and we know far younger than people seem to think. Imagine the trauma that could be spared if people would just believe trans kids!

Only 1.1% who start HRT stopped it for any reason whatsoever. This is, like, the fifth youth transition study that I'm aware of, and all of their results have been identical.

I wish I had known before the power of conventions to explore things! I had a skirt I wanted to wear at SDCC a couple weeks ago, and I was afraid to try it in public but I told myself, there's a guy dressed as Gumby over there, why am I worried? I hope you get more opportunities like that soon!
