If you want a senator who's gonna lick some boots, go vote for Rogers. But if you want a senator who's going to stand up to Trump, you've got your option.

The co-founder of the 2024 National Uncommitted Movement, Abbas Alawieh, decisively won his primary to become a State Senator in Michigan. Abbas was endorsed by both Bernie Sanders and Gretchen Whitmer. Abbas Alawieh also privately met with former VP Kamala Harris last month upon her request.
Occurring to me that AIPAC has $30m less to spend on conservatives in general elections than they would have.

The lesson for those Arabs will be to uh, not do that again.
I’m telling you this as a political scientist. The person who is electable is the one who is elected. This can and does change over time. Any and all speculation about “electability” is either puffery or anxiety and is often both.

In other Michigan news, the state looks set to elect it's first transgender lawmaker. Joanna Whaley won her Democratic primary and will compete in November for a state house seat, beating a primary opponent who tried and failed to disqualify her for not running under her deadname
The media's takeaway from an El-Sayed win is the same as it would have been from a Stevens win, and the same as it will be if El-Sayed wins the general, or if he loses it: everyone, no matter who they are, needs to take several steps to the right.
Pretty sure when you win the election it's a big election night. Pretty sure when your party's leadership all endorses the loser, it means the leadership is out of touch with the electorate.

The board of a Michigan township agreed to rezone a terrain to make way for a data center. Residents opposed to the data center forced a vote on the matter, and they blocked the rezoning tonight: www.mlive.com/news/ann-arb...

BREAKING: Abdul El-Sayed just beat the Israeli lobby in Michigan.
Any AES supporter would have been thrilled with a win of any margin as recently as a month ago. A few late polls showing a bigger lead shouldn’t change that reality. He won against the Dem establishment and $62M of PAC money. He was barely on the radar when he entered the race.
reminder that michigan has open primaries so a lot of republicans are likely voting for stevens today since rogers is unopposed
Elissa Slotkin, who believes she's running for president, endorsed and did straight-to-camera ads for Maasdam. Woeful underperformance from him here.
