Our remote trail cameras recently captured footage of a wild jaguar moving through a Sky Island mountain range south of Tucson, in the ancestral lands of the Tohono O'odham. More information: biodiv.us/3Pks4AM

Author, bookseller, and publisher friends: Please keep posting your positive stories about selling books through Bluesky, and I'll package them up and show them to publishers so that we can get more book publishers and even more authors and book conversation here!
The publishing industry views Bluesky as some tiny unimportant island out somewhere in a far-off ocean. It's not worthy of their attention like Amazon Algoland or The Republic Of Instagram Influencer Collaborativepost is. What they don't realise is just how much the island's inhabitants love books.
Puleng Segalo, Professor of Psychology at University of South Africa reimagines psychological inquiry, not through lab experiments - through embroidery. Her work with women exposes hidden trauma & resistance. Read about her journey from Zamdela to the world stage mauabiomagazine.com/puleng-segal...

I love your work! So glad you post here! From a fellow ceramicist who has only recently managed to touch clay again for the first time in forever…thank you for inspiring me to dare to post a pic of this little pot I made!
Charles Yang of Time for Three absolutely slaying me. I would lose my mind if I heard this live. Even crappy phone speakers made me scream and cry.
Just so folks are clear - I'm waiving all donations for my contributions (training/convening) to this effort. All facilitators are volunteers - and I am hoping that they will reimbursed for their labors by donation But this is a space being created to keep us all going:
Gathered Meeting to Support Helpers — What A Shrink Thinks
A quiet space to gather, rest, share & recover

These meetings are organized to support professional and *natural* helpers (caretakers, parents, activists, teachers, medical and mental health care providers, community organizers, advocates - anyone in danger of burnout, over-extension or demoralization

We currently have about 9 active facilitators who have committed to holding a once monthly Gathered Meeting by donation - so I'm hoping we will be able to have a couple meetings each week for folks to be able to drop into or attend regularly
Gathered Meeting is a space to sit still and in silence together, to draw on our shared strengths and resources, grieve and celebrate together when necessary, and stay grounded in the work in front of us. You are welcome to come sit with us as we build out a network of resting spaces

Dear Hilary I would very much like to come to your party and so would Hilary. Thank you for asking us.
“I was going to die, sooner or later, whether or not I had even spoken myself. My silences had not protected me. Your silences will not protect you.... What are the tyrannies you swallow day by day and attempt to make your own, until you will sicken and die of them, still in silence?” Audre Lorde
We expected 2,000 people out in GOP-held Greeley, Colorado. 11,000 people showed up. Something special is happening, folks. Now is the time to organize in every dimension possible and get to work.
Overflow crowd for Bernie/AOC rally in Greeley, CO — the small one today, big one is in Denver later
I would encourage anyone dedicated to the causes of academic integrity, social justice, and (funnily enough) free speech to sign this petition in support of a brilliant NU professor whose tenure application was denied for the baffling and contradictory reason that he stands up for his students.
Any of my #cancer patient or research peeps had their grants revoked or #clinicaltrial stopped due to the new regime's #waronscience and #waronresearch? 👇
Hey SUFS Community! If you fall into one of the following categories and are willing to talk to press (on or off the record), please comment/DM us: 1. Had a funded grant revoked 2. Are considering moving abroad to continue your research 3. Have been impacted by the stoppage of a clinical trial
Reading this I gasped in agony & horror/moral injury. I feel this as the most intense punch to the gut (& soul) as someone who has had 3 separate breast cancers and who has been a fierce patient advocate. Please send my love to your friend. @jonrauch.bsky.social This is beyond unconscionable.
A friend drove two hours today for her breast cancer chemotherapy only to learn it was canceled due to NIH cuts. Clinical trial ended midstream. No treatment, no restart, no plan, no information. Her bro-in-law's chemo was also canceled.
A great read from @juliusgoat.bsky.social , plus it delivered the belly laugh I desperately needed on this miserable morning!

Hey, ladies! I'm looking to talk to women age 65 and up about whether they still get screened for cervical cancer and why. Give me a shout!
