The publishing industry views Bluesky as some tiny unimportant island out somewhere in a far-off ocean. It's not worthy of their attention like Amazon Algoland or The Republic Of Instagram Influencer Collaborativepost is. What they don't realise is just how much the island's inhabitants love books.

I love your work! So glad you post here! From a fellow ceramicist who has only recently managed to touch clay again for the first time in forever…thank you for inspiring me to dare to post a pic of this little pot I made!

A leather-hard, brown clay pinched pot on a brown banding wheel. The pot’s sides are perpendicular to its base and the rim has been carved with mountain ridgelines in mind. The outer walls of the pot feature textured wavy lines flowing diagonally between the top and the base, reminiscent of the motion of submerged sea grasses. Pot and photo by me.

We currently have about 9 active facilitators who have committed to holding a once monthly Gathered Meeting by donation - so I'm hoping we will be able to have a couple meetings each week for folks to be able to drop into or attend regularly

I would encourage anyone dedicated to the causes of academic integrity, social justice, and (funnily enough) free speech to sign this petition in support of a brilliant NU professor whose tenure application was denied for the baffling and contradictory reason that he stands up for his students.

Reading this I gasped in agony & horror/moral injury. I feel this as the most intense punch to the gut (& soul) as someone who has had 3 separate breast cancers and who has been a fierce patient advocate. Please send my love to your friend. @jonrauch.bsky.social This is beyond unconscionable.

A friend drove two hours today for her breast cancer chemotherapy only to learn it was canceled due to NIH cuts. Clinical trial ended midstream. No treatment, no restart, no plan, no information. Her bro-in-law's chemo was also canceled.
