Games Radar has been fishing around the EDGE magazine archives and has published a 2005 EDGE interview with The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma. Mr. Aonuma recounted that Shigeru Miyamoto asked him to join the Zelda team after seeing his Zelda-like game Marvelous on the Super Nintendo. Mr. Aonuma says that he really wanted to incorporate "some essence of Zelda" into Marvelous and then after the game had been released Mr. Miyamoto asked him whether he would like to work on The Legend of Zelda franchise and he's been on it ever since.
