Thanks so much for sharing! Everyone who worked on this is a cat person, so it really was a passion project for us. I'm glad you liked it!
Hi everyone! Hope you like my review of American Manga Award nominee, A Cat is a Cat in Any Life. Cat's gonna Cat 🐈
Here's a nifty new video about Dragon Quest: The Mark of Erdrick that highlights our first chapter. When I was editing volume 7 last week, I legitimately teared up at [redacted]. I've never had that reaction before. I promise you this series is worth checking out. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzTF...

I sometimes wonder how many Wikipedia articles I'm cited in due to my work at ANN.
Translators seldom have access to the dev builds of the games they work on. About 95% of the time, we get (at best) a couple of screenshots and a few paragraphs explaining the concept. The rest is just rawdogging Excel files and a million queries
What’s a thing from your area of expertise (or special interest) that you think it would behoove everyone else to know?
Credit to /Jaro0__ for finding this, (and /Mogeko_bunn_sin for the heads up) There's other titles where a MTL Company was credited as the translator for a specific title despite telling sites like ANN "AI translation was not used for this project." So yea....
These are the exact issues of Monthly Asuka @mangamavericks.bsky.social is looking for for Sword of Paros. If you have a lead let them know!
@mangamavericks.bsky.social literally asked at their panel that if anyone happens to have issues of Monthly Asuka from 1986 & 1987 to let them know, as they'd like to get as many color pages for Sword of Paros as possible.
I think AI might be a scheme by Queen Beryl to drain our energy to power the Negaverse.
1) I hate being suspicious of everything I see. 2) I hate it even more when I was right to be suspicious. Like, how is this even allowed? GenAI tourism feels like a recipe for misinformation and misleading. And the tells are all the same! Great for IDing yet depressing to see the slop everywhere.
Originally published as a two-volume series in Japan, our team combined all of the cuteness into ONE spectacular standalone in A Cat Is a Cat in Any Life (2-in-1 Edition). With French flaps, sprayed edges, and beautiful 4-color printing, it’s the PURRfect read! 🐾😺
I was so happy to draw little fat cats for this edge.
We are PAWSitively OBSESSED with the adorable sprayed edges on A Cat Is a Cat in Any Life (2-in-1 Edition)! Take in all the clawsome details from tip to tail before casting your vote for @mangaawardsusa.bsky.social’s Best Publication Design category! 😽 Vote Now: sqex.link/VoteNow
Suddenly remembered a bizarre comment I got years ago while working at ANN. The other person working there at the time who also went to Oberlin got a similar comment. Never forget that people online are just plain strange sometimes and aren't worth a second thought.
A Shojo manga treasure trove will be opening in Japan in October! The exhibition “Shojo manga infinity will feature 800 pieces of art from Moto Hagio, Ryoko Yamagishi, and Waki Yamato’s careers. It will be located in Roppongi Tokyo at the National Art Center from October 28 to February 8, 2027.
my take is that requiring editorial staff to commute to any high cost of living city is exacerbating poor working conditions across the industry
Kayaking in nature is good for you. I'm not even a boat person, but you can't beat the tranquility.
I just stumbled upon this nifty review of our isekitty manga. "the effort Square Enix put into the release is fantastic. There’s a cover with folds [...] There are also book edge decorations of pink cat silhouettes with paws. It makes the book feel more lavish." www.siliconera.com/a-cat-is-a-c...

This just came up in my memories, so shout-out to the time I climbed Mt. Fuji in an FMA hoodie. (And got lost and was only semi-conscious at the top for a while.) I still have the stick. 🗻

I saw someone on Instagram post a ChatGPT generated flyer for a Sailor Moon themed event, and when I commented how gross the AI-made content was, the poster AND event account blocked me. 🙄 This shit truly does cook your brain!
ChatGPT posters and flyers are polluting real life and driving me insane. Please respond to this with the worst ones you've seen irl. I'll post some in the thread www.404media.co/we-are-livin...
I rewatched Time of Eve on a whim. It was genuinely fascinating to revisit the down-to-earth fantasy of androids just wanting to live their best lives among us. It hits differently in the age of actively harmful fake AI we live in now. Debating if I should post more thoughts or write an article.

After seeing this posted various places, I'm now remembering and putting it together than Miwa voiced Moro in Princess Mononoke. That really was great casting. I'm sad we've lost another piece of my favorite film. It's a good time to rewatch and appreciate their work.
Akihiro Miwa, one of #Japan’s earliest most visible LGBTQ+ icons, singers, and film stars, has died at 91. Their best known role overseas was in 1968's Black Lizard. www.sankei.com/article/2026...
