Just finished my first review of ARC grants as a detailed assessor. Feeling inadequate is an understatement 😅 - where/what/how do academics find the time to secure tens of millions of $ in grants?! Also, female representation = appalling. We need to do better when it comes to high stake grants.

New publication in JGR: Biogeosciences on deep vs surface water CH4 dynamics in dugouts lead by amazing PhD student, Ryan Rimas! We found that a wetter year caused more CH4 to accumulate in the hypolimnion, but this did not result in a significant change in surface water CH4.

New perspective piece on ditch greenhouse gas research I had the pleasure to collaborate on. Key research priorities are provided. Not surprisingly, many studies neglect to include N2O. There is still much work to be done in this space and I'm looking forward to the next era of ditch research!
