It was a great thing to be able to host this conversation. ‘Plans don’t change things, people do’, ‘get the basics right’, ‘get local’ and ‘intentionally hear all voices’ and ‘you can’t deal with the NHS in a vacuum from social care’ - wise words from all the panelists!!

Here @jacoblant.bsky.social highlights a paradox of the left shift to prevention. Before getting to the sunny uplands of genuinely better & cheaper health, you have to make your way across the rocky terrain of uncovered unmet need. Doesn't make it the wrong thing to do, but savings aren't a given.

Very true. But I don’t think it’s an argument to continue with a late treatment model. At the very least if earlier diagnosis is providing better insight on true level of need we can have a better conversation on the resource the NHS needs. So much hidden unmet need out there at the moment.
