Monumental achievement for all the Metro advocates who organized against Gibbs - it's the first time in Metro history that the full board has refused to ratify a board member who was nominated by one of the subregions. Gibbs is just that noxious!

Breaking news: Full L.A. County City Selection Committee did not ratify pro-highway Republican Santa Clarita City Councilmember John Gibbs for the Metro board. This step is generally a rubber stamp, but today full county said "no". The matter goes back to subregion now.
