I had to stop multiple times and seethe about how relevant it was to current events.

I was told housing would become more affordable after deporting lots of undocumented migrants. Weird how that didn’t happen.
The overriding motivation of this administration is fear. Fear of questions, fear of transparency, fear of the American people.

Honestly? My favorite thing to stream these days is What Will You Do, Ieyasu, on Netflix. It's a 2023 NHK-produced "taiga" drama about the life and times of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the warlord who unified feudal Japan. It's exceptionally good, especially for a Japanese history geek.
Why do I have the feeling that five or six people appointed for life to positions of unchecked power don’t believe democracy is really all that important? Truly the worst court in our history. There isn’t even context to partially explain their rulings. They’re creating a dictatorship from scratch.

You have to wear a suit to go on the floor. This is where most legislating happens. Rather, he hangs outside on one of the chairs and checks his phone.
Agreed. A must read. The original Star Trek promised us AI that would tell us, in a robotic, uninflected voice, "DATA INSUFFICIENT" when it didn't have enough information. Instead we got an eager-to-please sycophant with zero judgment that makes up stuff when, well, the data are insufficient.
