I attended a figure #drawing session this past week. It didn't feel like my last experience had been THAT long ago, but it *was* 30 years ago. Poses went from 1 minute long to 15 minutes. I kept up OK and captured all 17 poses within 2 hours. Good eye training and practice in 3 media. 1 / 🧵

Well I’ve finally finished my latest #embroidery, please feel free to dream away and make of it what you will.My hands are going to have a little rest before the next one.I hope you enjoy!😊🪡🌿🌺*completely freehand using the needle like a paintbrush onto upcycled denim. #stitchedart #thesewingsongbird

A Japan ramen shop keeps a solid steel egg in boiling water and drops it straight into your bowl if the broth cools, no dilution, no flavor loss, just instant heat.

Library funding is tied to usage.

this is why we cant have nice things pay your artists, pay your craftsmen

Yes it should have stopped right here 👇🏻 but 77M idiots voted for him.

First wash going into this mini #painting of Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan in #chiangmai, Doi Suthep in the background. Ecstatic that I could put the mountain's soft-to-crisp silhouette in at the right time when the sky wasn't fully dry yet. #Watercolor painters live for these perfect moments #art

Experiments with alcohol spray inks in the coworking studio. Discovered by accident that plain water on top of a dried wash displaces pigment, which makes for interesting opportunities and effects. #art #painting #play

Art isn’t always meant for white gallery walls behind rope. Sometimes, it lives amid loft beds and term papers—if even just for a moment.

Experimented with the color from used tea leaves yesterday after a fascinating presentation of local (Lanna) wild tea. Just a day of working in a shared studio space with a tea maker. (Boy, do I have updates!)

Si Phum Wall in Chiang Mai. Always knew this one would be kinda challenging, but it was worth it. The colors of the bricks have always made me 😍 #art #watercolors #painting #sketch

Almost done, just giving more detail to the sHrUbBeRy #painting #video #wip #watercolors #art #chiangmai

Never interested in work looking like the reference photo, but I enjoy my drawings looking correct. Once that is done, it's fun manipulating and pushing the colors into hue-shifting blobs and lines. I've always loved the layers of this wall! #art #painting #wip #watercolors #chiangmai

Traveling. There's a store near us called Fox Book Cafe and this cool bookstore name (and cool bookstore in itself) deserved a little quick doodle.

Never concede an inch to generative images and text. It is a fascistic project by billionaires to undermine and destroy human culture, its goal is to destroy our empathy and human connections. We are already feeling the effect. It is far from being “just a tool”.

Progress. What I liked in the ref photo was how easily I could make it look pre-Raphaelite, but I also want to play with contrasts and pattern against the indigo overalls (the original photo had it olive-colored) later #wip #art #painting #watercolor #sketch

WE DON'T NEED PETROLEUM-BASED PLASTICS ANYMORE! "The [bamboo plastic] outperforms most commercial plastics and bioplastics in mechanical and thermo-mechanical metrics while maintaining full biodegradability in soil within 50 days and closed-loop recyclability with 90% retained strength."

Bioplastics derived from biomass show promise as sustainable alternatives to petrochemical plastics, but their adoption is hindered by their inferior mechanical properties and processability. Here, th...

Back from The Devil Wears Prada 2 and what stuck with me was that Miranda's tassel jacket looked like a Regretsy purchase, sorry.

For once, opted away from a landscape reference at today's drawing meetup because I missed painting figures. Used a stock photo of someone in an olive grove but made up the bottom half of the pic #wip #art #sketch #watercolors

I'm in a very photogenic, paintworthy place right now. I even have my paint set but it's just enough to sit here, gaze, and take pictures #chiangdao #chiangmai #thailand
