Now that folks are getting their Rose City Comic Con table assignments, I have a favor to ask. If you'll be at #RCCC and you were on my Jimmy Olsen cover, reply with your table number so I can assemble a printed list of where you'll all be, and send people to you to sign it!

Emmy nominations are out and KDKA-TV has been nominated for nineteen Emmys this year, including News Excellence. I got named for two of them, so that's very nice. Congrats to the nominees and to my extremely talented colleagues who deserve far more recognition for all their work.

DAMMIT! I'm pretty sure that this is deer poop in my backyard. My front yard gets deer regularly, but deer normally don't persevere up the long narrow driveway to the backyard. I have tulip bulbs back there! And many plants not chosen for being disliked by deer. huntwise.com/field-guide/...
#ONEDAY is today! There are plenty of nonprofits in Western PA that can use your help -- with the Pittsburgh Foundation providing additional incentives. If a group close to your heart has a #ONEDAY fundraiser today, post it in the replies.

Spotted, and killed, my first adult Spotted Lantern Fly of the summer. My thanks to all the local critters who have starting eating the nymphs and adults!
The new bridge is in place, and there's traffic on the Parkway under the Greenfield Bridge again, so we're back! It was lovely today -- sunny, breezy and not humid. We wave flags, and pet passing dogs. 🐕🦺 @pittsburghoverpass.bsky.social

They served their country. Now they're fighting for their health care. LGBTQ+ veterans and allies rallied outside Pittsburgh's VA hospital to protest policy changes they say threaten access to transgender care and dismantle LGBTQ+ support within the VA.
LGBTQ+ Veterans Protest VA Restrictions on Transgender Care
A promise made at enlistment — that the nation will care for those who serve — has become increasingly uncertain for the nation’s LGBTQ+ veterans. On Saturday, members of Common Defense, a veteran-led movement dedicated to upholding their oath long after active duty has ended, rallied outside the VA hospital in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood to voice their opposition to changes to treatment policies that have a significant impact on the care they currently receive.

Last year, Trump and Republicans made the largest Medicaid cuts in history, putting nearly 20,000 people in my district and over 300,000 Pennsylvanians at risk of losing care. We'll keep fighting to pass bills that protect and expand access to quality, affordable healthcare.
You expect some deer in yards at night if you're near a park, but this was 2:30 in the afternoon on Beacon which is a rather busy street! The deer were unfazed by the traffic, and by us nearby on the sidewalk.

Scenes from the meadow. I wish I could've gotten a shot of the sparrows sipping water from the cup plant but they were too far away. It's a busy day out there. Spotted some monarchs and lots of bumblebees and smaller bees too but they were camera shy. 🌿 #NativePlants

The most infuriating thing about all the Fauci stuff this week is that everyone is past tensing a pandemic that is still happening. Covid is still disabling and killing people.
