Haha. “I don’t know what Dropout is, but I hear it’s all game shows, and who doesn’t love a good game show?” - Don Hertzfeldt
A fascinating development. Happy I'll be able to easily watch PAPER TRAIL come Sept 1 now.
A fascinating development. Happy I'll be able to easily watch PAPER TRAIL come Sept 1 now.
Don Hertzfeldt’s full catalog of films has found a new streaming home. Dropout has acquired a collection that includes ‘Rejected,’ ‘World of Tomorrow,’ ‘It’s Such a Beautiful Day,’ and more, with Annecy winner ‘Paper Trail’ arriving September 1. www.cartoonbrew.com/shorts/don-h...
Nobody: Me: The phrase "Now Streaming" should only be reserved for films added to streaming subscription services. Debuting on a VOD/Digital service isn't "streaming." It's a point-of-purchase designation (regardless of your thoughts on DRM/licenses) demanding access to a unique cost and library.
That doesn’t sound cost effective or profitable for the government. What will the taxpayers think? Oh, right. The military and law enforcement are always exempt from conversations about “waste.”

U.S. has used 'virtually all' of its long-range precision missiles during Iran war: Reuters
Government programs don’t operate at a loss because they aren’t created to make a profit. They are meant to keep people alive. What a gift living in a country full of the false confidence to condone preventable deaths rather than invest in your own survival if, god forbid, YOU end up needing help.
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

This is really depressing. Neko Case doesn't name names, and nor does she need to, but I believe her. If anything, she tends to be honest to a fault--this post illustrates exactly what I mean--and abso-fucking-lutely does not hold back (except for said dude's name). [ht: @rahnealexander.com]
IN WHAT FUCKING UNIVERSE?
This last week I was just cookin’ along minding my business when I suddenly found myself quite depressed.

A portion of Maya Annik Bedward’s BLACK ZOMBIE deals with complexity of the source material for this and the inherent issues surrounding the film adaptation itself.

Film you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, Marvel, Disney, or Ghibli.
I started getting followed by some "film festivals" and "writing festivals" and thought "oh, these are cool!" Then I looked a little closer. They're all part of a network that preys on writers, charging us for reviews, and feeding our stuff into slop generators. So I made a list.👋🏻🖕🏻😠

Had a great time with CORPUS at #Fantasia2026. An effective drama about breaking patterns and discerning lust from jealousy with a dark supernatural mythology running beneath to add even more intrigue. Yellow Veil Pictures is on the case to secure a US distributor. My @thefilmstage.com thoughts:
A standout at this year's Fantasia Fest, Corrin Evans' feature debut #Corpus offers the perfect mix of narrative mystery and character drama that leads into blurred lines between sexuality and control. Read @jaredmobarak.com's Critic's Pick review: thefilmstage.com/fantasia-rev...
