She was AGHAST that Nolan, with his million $ budget, gave Matt Damon ONLY 6 hair extensions. As a result, his hair did not blow around properly, & that ruined the film for her.

Classic writing mistake you see all the time. Actually effective ancient armies had basic simple tactics they could reuse and functioning logistics. Military genius was 80% knowing how to do that and knowing the precise limits of your men and chief subordinates.
"Online Rent-a-Sage" Bret Devereaux@bretdevereaux.bsky.social · 2d agoModern TV and film are full of these sorts of over-complicated nonsense tactics you could never use in real life, because writers seem to imagine that good military tactics have to be terribly clever, when in fact they generally have to be terribly *reliable* so you can pull them off.
The last few days are a great example of Pedro Sánchez--whatever his faults--deserving uncritical support for showcasing EU solidarity as mostly a fraudulent concept. All other member states will be prepared to kill you if they see a video of brown people crossing your border.
The first 2 seasons of DS9 are honestly among my favourites because it’s where the show really stands out among its peers as a show anchored in a particular place. Later seasons, while excellent, loses that as the characters travel wider out into the galaxy.
