Pseudonymous Chicago guy.

I was going to delay purchasing my new bike until after the weather cooled off a little, but then I heard that Bike the Drive is Sunday so I just had to suck it up and bike in this damn heat to pick it up.

Do drivers know what to do at these things? No. Would they do what they are supposed to do if they knew? Also no. Do the bikes and pedestrians crossing know how these are supposed to work? Also no. COMPLETE AND UTTER WASTE OF MONEY I HATE THESE THINGS SO MUCH.

There is a particularly dangerous pedestrian crossing on Columbus, between the Fairmont and the Lakeshore East Park that I am about to make my life mission to get fixed. I am almost hit there at least 2 times a week and the drivers are always going too fast.

I only learned about Rahm Emanuel recently, being a fairly recent Chicago transplant, but I appreciate how readily Chicagoans are to remind people of his record every time he comes up. I appreciate you guys.

I love cycling as my main mode of transportation, in art, because I can completely replace my stolen bike for around the same price as getting new brake pads on my car, when I had one.
