Accountability. Like “affordability,” it’s something these clowns only give lip service to, if that.

Cooling off, going through email-newsletters for a few until I decide to go back outside. North Sun by Ethan Rutherford is a book club pick at Deep Vellum. I decided to learn what I could and am now reading about the book, the writer Ethan Rutherford, and 19th century whaling.

The other day the algorithm fed me 1 part of a 5 part series of some woman targeting a romantasy writer with “why I think her book series is AI generated” and it was just…vibes. With a caveat that said “just my opinion” Trying to ruin someone’s career over vibes AI has created collective paranoia
The way that everyone sees fantom AI in original work now is such a fucked up secondary downstream AI nightmare consequence. People can’t critically identify real art any longer and so everything gets accused of not being original. I don’t know how we climb out of this hole.
Under the current political climate in Texas, I doubt they’ll win, and if they do they’ll still face the willful ignorance and antagonism from the majority of their students. But some battles you fight anyway and a losing hand can be the most interesting depending on how it’s played.

I didn’t start the Baldree story but read instead issue 2 of Concrete Stars Over Sand. The series will obviously read better as a whole once completed. I just want to read each chapter as they’re released. And Chadwick’s covers! Now to run errands and, I hope, not overheat.
