It is profoundly bizarre that the head of one of America’s major teachers union is currently promoting Khanmigo only weeks after Sal Khan, creator of Khanmigo, admitted the vast majority of students don’t like using it and he, Sal Khan, is moving on to other matters.

I've been covering tech, and tech industry influence, in schools for more than a decade. And I've never seen this kind of rapidly scaling effort by parents pushing for more oversight of the laptops and learning apps that schools give kids. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/29/t...

I've been quietly removing tech from my school library since I took over 6 years ago. I thought people would be annoyed, but it's been great. Adults have barely noticed, and the students have responded well.
