Music producer, figure painter, sim racer. 🇦🇺 / He/him / Your AI slop bores me.

I believe this follows precedent, but there's something paradoxical about registering copyright on a work, where some part of it can only exist due to the pillaging of copyright material... ? [imo; not a lawyer]. And then; no protection for THAT work being fed back into the plagiarism engine..?

The Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) will now allow AI-assisted music to be registered for copyright, provided the creator made substantial creative contributions. Works generated solely through AI prompts will remain ineligible.

Another lore drop, I do #simracing I race in VR, mostly endurance races in a team of 2 on #iracing Typical races are 6-12 hours, we tend to alternate 1 hour stints. I once did a 24hr for charity, it was an amazing experience Only do a couple races/year these days as prep takes a lot of time 🏁

VR! Trak Racer TR80 lite, second hand Fanatec Clubsport gear, and my trusty Reverb G2 headset. BST-1 bass shaker mounted under seat. I adore this rig. Minimal, cost-effective, with incredible immersion, and eating only 70x140cm of floor space. Has seen me through many hours of enduros 🏁

I think being radicalized against art might be a watershed unmitigated failure type of moment for this one life you get to live in this universe

Day 8A: Gustave. Painted mo/brows. Added sclera, then iris outline. Filled in with green/brown, and then dotted pupil. At <3mm wide, these eyes were a serious challenge. 2x phone cam is v unflattering, but looks good irl. I've ruined eyes before by chasing perfection; it's always a risk!

Day 7: Gustave Started facial hair. Mostly brown, dry brushing (not super dry) and then short strokes. Beard done(?). Will need more time on moustache. I also darkened the colour of the wound on his forehead with some brown wash (no pic) as I felt bad 😭 #hobbystreak #3dprinting #minipainting

NEW: A glimpse at how AI image generators are used. Researchers set up a fake image editor on Hugging Face and within a week received 1,000 prompts. 73% of them were sexual and 83% of those were asking for people (women) to be “undressed”. Around 6% of the sexual requests also targeted minors

Hugging Face Has a Deepfake Nudes Problem

Researchers tested top image editing models on Hugging Face and found they could easily create explicit deepfakes—and 1,000 image editing prompts show how people use the software.
