For those of you unaware of what's going on in Delaware: after fencing a bunch of people into a homeless encampment and giving them worse than nothing, our local government evicted them using cops on June 15th, then vetoed an affordable housing trust and gave 16mil to local developers

I thought I was doing a small story on confusion over the sudden disappearance of water fountains on a popular South Mississippi biking and running trail. What I found was a bigger story about homelessness, the meaning people find in the things they love, public infrastructure and civic engagement.

This Danville, VA city council candidate made a very dramatic video about sidewalks and public safety, and I love it and him. Worrying about a possible milkshake duck situation, I looked at his FB page, but he seems ok. Juneteenth celebrations, community outreach, Methodists. A solid old gent.
