You know, it's easy to forget sometimes, but processing grief and trauma takes LOADS of energy. So if you're in that kind of place and you find yourself burnt out, exhausted, frustrated with yourself... It's probably not forever.

ppl both don't use and don't know what to do when someone says "my bad" because everyone's Ready To Go at all times now. fastest shortcircuit known to mankind

Hey Democrats: run on this. Point out how Donald Trump is using the presidency to dodge his taxes while the rest of us keep paying more and more for less and less return. He gets private jets, a new ballroom, golden toilets. And he sticks us with the bill. Ffs, the ads write themselves.

FLAG: Trump gets to keep tax immunity for himself, his sons, and the Trump Organization under the new 'deal' struck by Todd Blanche. The new order also reaffirms that Trump won't have to pay any taxes he might have owed the IRS.

My Discover feed is constantly chock-full of slapdash ResistLib accounts spamming this kind of nonsense and they always get hundreds to thousands of likes and shares and whatnot. ...Then again, there's no telling how many of those are legit either, is there? Could be bots all the way down.

three young women in a tv commercial looking from their booth and saying ew, seriously, so gross. I don't like the commercial's context they should leave that person alone, just using the words.

It’s so funny when people are like “sure you’re an abolitionist now but wait until you’re the victim of a property crime.” Buddy, the most useful thing the police have ever done for property crime is put the form you need to submit to your insurance online.

YES. "Trans rights are human rights" isn't just a slogan. It's another way to say "you own your body, no one else gets to tell you what you can and can't do with it." It's so refreshing to hear someone adjacent to a position of power talking actual sense on this. Please let him win.

El Sayed: "When it comes to trans rights, this is the right to get the health care that you need...It’s the right not to be discriminated against by your government because of who you are. Because what tends to happen is they come for theirs, then they come for yours"

The idea that we can assent to the taking away of anybody’s rights, and think that somehow the government won’t come for all of our rights, is itself the problem. And, look, I don’t need people to understand how they use their rights. I just need people to agree that the government shouldn’t be able to take any of our rights. I put my face on the ground thirty-four times a day, David. Most people don’t understand why I do it. I don’t need them to understand. I just want to have the right to do it. And when people decide that they want to take away my right to do that, I’ve got a problem.

Health insurance vent: My partner lost their insurance when they quit their job. New job doesn't offer insurance until after 90 days. Medicaid won't cover us because we own a car that's worth >$3000. Marketplace insurance would cost us at least $850/mo. ...I wish I lived in a country.

"A concentration camp, in its most basic definition, is a place where a targeted civilian population, not necessarily accused of a crime, is detained and at least some of their basic rights are suspended," writes @jwashing.bsky.social. "That’s precisely what’s happening in the United States today."

Don’t call them ICE detention centers. Call them camps | John Washington

I’ve spent a decade reporting on immigration enforcement. The word ‘camp’ best captures the political function of these facilities

Sometimes I like to think about the fact that the people who spent the last 10-15 years hurling the term "NPC" at everyone who disagrees with them are the same people now sourcing all their news and opinions from ChatGPT.

Good-faith concern on this issue would be going, "hmm, professional sports leagues should probably have some standards in place to ensure trans competitors aren't getting an unfair advantage," googling for 5 minutes, realizing every sports league already has those standards and dropping it.

Rodger Sherman@rodger.bsky.social · 6d ago

i don't believe anyone has "good-faith" concerns about trans women in sports in 2026. there's been too much time to hear the actual evidence, the actual people affected, and the role the debate plays in attempts to purge trans people from American life. anybody picking that side has made a choice

Fascists just can't help burning books, can they? Literally every time a fascist movement crops up (and the AI ecosystem is a huge part of the modern fascist movement), they always find some excuse to destroy our physical culture. Wouldn't be surprised to see them start altering extant ebooks next.

companies are sourcing millions of printed books for AI labs that scan them for training data, then destroy them. printed books are more valuable because they're free of AI slop, and AI labs know destroying them is an "optics problem." www.404media.co/ai-companies...
