The #ttrpg catchphrase “rulings over rules” bugs me. It’s not wrong, it’s beside the point. GMs make rulings when rules are absent or poor because we’re at a tabletop not a computer. Designers must still ask 1) what rules are needed and 2) how to make ‘em good enough not to need over-ruling. #ttisg

Thanks to the new custom multi-player ship construction, I'm playing No Man's Sky again. Not only that, but you can walk up the ship's entry ramp, walk around inside, fly to other planets, get up & walk around while it's flying, land & walk back down the ramp onto the surface. Cool. #NoMansSky

There is an important difference. If you say "Under Republican control, Congress has been ineffectual..." it provides a basis for voting Republicans out. If you merely say "Congress has been ineffectual..." it implies "they're all crooks!" and encourages people to opt out of voting.

Manda @talzhemir.bsky.social is playtesting Lost Age, her sequel to our Paleolithic #ttrpg Cavemaster. Here are two ‘character tablets’ from tonight’s game. We’re using a diced variant of the Cavemaster “Habilis system”. I’ve tried to draw pictures in the style of Copper Age sites like Gobekli Tepe.
