When people talk about "AI replacing jobs" and whether it's reasonable to want to push back against that, the implicit assumption is that AI is replacing jobs because it's as good at or better at the people doing those jobs, which I think is a pretty obvious unfounded assertion at this point

I am for very obvious reasons quite sympathetic to this viewpoint, though I think an opponent could reasonably say "why do you want this for yourself but not all the other long-automated jobs?"
personally I think the fact that all of the companies pushing AI are hyper-right-wing fascist septic tanks whose leaders love shit like eugenics & transphobia & race science should factor into the thought process before anybody spends their free time glazing their products with philosophy exercises
