Disinformation alert: While "mail-in ballots" are prohibited this fall, voting by "Special Ballot" is allowed. The OC states that the process "does not prevent advance voting... or voting by a Special Ballot..." "Special Ballot" is simply another term for voting by mail.

Jared, have you seen this?

How about: 💔👇 "What's the province done to cause this?" "The memo said a recommendation for the city to advocate for additional supervised consumption services or overdose prevention sites is “no longer applicable” with provincial policy directions leading to the closure of sites in Alberta."

Edmonton city councillors say they were shocked to learn that a record number of people fatally overdosed in the city last year.

This is genuinely astonishing: a piece by the Globe and Mail’s editorial board lamenting the “new normal” of wildfires and summer smoke and no mention whatsoever of a) climate change, or b) the burning of fossil fuels that causes it. #cdnpoli www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/edit...

Private registries have no business vetting citizenship. They have no right to make copies of documents or demand they be handed over. Ultimately, the UCP is creating their own database of who is Canadian by birth and who isn't. That should scare people. #ableg #abpoli

"Pharmacists have been told they will be allowed to give out provincially funded COVID-19 vaccines to eligible Albertans once again this fall." This story slipped under the radar I can only assume this policy changed because there's an election in 2027 #ableg #abpoli www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

What is our government doing? This project defies common sense - this is corporate welfare on a surreal scale, giving a gift to an industry making $90 billion in excess profits this year, and which still refuses to pay for its own infrastructure.

"Minister of Education and Childcare Demetrios Nicolaides’ Calgary-Bow riding received three times more contributions in 2025 compared to the previous year. And most of that money can be traced back to private school operators and childcare companies." theijf.org/brief/privat...

I'm just so disgusted by Canada's political class. The vast majority of them are pro-genocide, they use a CSAM site, they're gleefully pouring gas on a burning world. They're truly the worst of us.

Every single Liberal MP who hasn't left the party in disgust should be ashamed of themselves. But they won't be. You need to have pre-existing ethics and morals to actually be ashamed of yourself for breaking them. I cannot believe how shitty our leaders are right now. It's beyond belief.

I am helping a new mother, still a youth herself and her young brother. Their dad and brother died tragically last month. Setting up grief counselling. They have no means. Does anybody know of a low cost vet for thier kitten to get needles, neutered? He's so important to them right now.

Mark Carney has: -scrapped consumer carbon tax -scrapped oil/gas emissions cap -cut $1.3B from environment Canada -weakened industrial carbon pricing -axed 2 billion trees program -approved 1M barrels/day pipeline -weakened greenwashing laws While this is happening:

Five straight years warmer than anything observed before 2023 (Current record +1.53 degrees warming) en route to 2 degrees by 2030

The problem with pandering to conspiracy theorists is that as soon as real issues that act as scaffolding for their theories are addressed, they'll just find different "facts" to plug those holes in their worldview. The worldview is what they believe in, the facts they use to support it are fluid.

There is pervasive corruption across our healthcare and agricultural systems that defy party lines. I meet with MAHA activists because a lot of their concerns are bipartisan issues that major corporations paint as partisan. The fight isn't left and right, it's top and bottom.

I think MPs should have to be in office the same number of days as other public servants. They like their hybrid arrangements? Then everyone else gets them too. And I think voting on legislation from their phones should be illegal, and the fact that any MPs have done it should be a massive scandal.

When the House Hippo first appeared on Canadian televisions, it seemed that everyone wanted one to appear in their homes. This commercial became a part of the Canadian cultural landscape and even today, the House Hippo is beloved by Canadians. 🧵 1/10
