I can only imagine the bailout package they are drawing up for themselves. As the saying goes, privatize the profits, and socialize the losses.
UI tip: don't restrict input fields so they don't respond to input (max length for example). Much better that people get validation messages telling them what is wrong. Plus they might be pasting something they then edit down. Silently refusing input is an anti pattern
