If you are in a senior leadership position at institution of higher learning and you regularly use generative AI to compose ridiculous, ineffective communications while at the same time trying to put out of work the people who teach others how to communicate better...you need to face yourself.
LOL. Guys. We don’t register to protest. We just show up.
Nearly three million Americans donated to Kamala Harris on ActBlue last year. That statement of public support is the perfect antidote to autocratic oppression. You should definitely sign up for a No Kings protest on October 18, and invite your family and friends to carpool with you. nokings.org

There aren't many stories that prompt gasps at our editors' daily budget meeting. But this was one.
ICE took 2 firefighters OFF THE FUCKING FIRE LINE!?
The best author photos are when the author is holding or sitting beside an animal they love.
"Just as I long for poems that carry the wisdom and surprise of my friends’ verbal play, I hope for novels that are absorbing, like a long conversation with a friend. . ." In our Family Secrets Folio, @jessejohnson.bsky.social reviews Morgan Talty's FIRE EXIT.
Have national Dems, who claim to want to "win back" the working class, said anything yet about ICE injuring and arresting the head of the SEIU of California? truthout.org/articles/ice...

I have few regrets, but one is that I didn’t read Alice Notley sooner. I think my life would have been different, and better.
"...the depth and extent of the exclusion of women poets from previous literature was an unfathomable void that no man was ever going to be capable of understanding. The suppression of women from poetry was an incomparable loss, a tragedy for me and everyone else." Alice Notley

Shout out to all of the faculty and students who made it through this semester in particular. What a time to be teaching and learning in spaces that are directly under attack from people who benefited from having access to the same resources themselves.
I was happy to review a great novel in this folio. Thanks @lisaampleman.bsky.social for the opportunity. I am loving @jscheng.bsky.social ‘s craft essay here and looking forward to reading the others.

just so we’re all clear: the reason they keep using dolls as their example is because they’re trying to frame caring about material stuff as feminine and thus inherently shameful
Bessent says that little girls who are sad about having fewer dolls should just have it explained to them that they will have a better life for it
Overhead of the May Day march in Chicago. Thousands and thousands. I've heard (but can't confirm) anywhere between 10-50k. In any case it's huge.
Hear me out. No more interviews of the weird pronatalist couple. Interview the neighborhood dads. The guy who mows the lawn of an elderly neighbor. The people who live self-sacrificial lives that make other people’s lives better. Normalize that. A crisis in masculinity? Highlight this man.
This is the only content i wanna see
