Writes romance and horror. Sometimes combines the two in a horrible romance. Gluten-free. May contain nuts. No DMs, please, because the UK has determined I'm not adult enough to read them.

I do like that Vance and that haunted dildo Miller can sit there with straight faces and talk about fraud, while the president is a fraud-elemental who's blasting through taxpayer funds because he can't stop gilding anything that sits still for more than five minutes.

You can/should read Emily Wilson's latest take on the Odyssey, but I'm logging on to convey my hairdresser's reaction. She was AGHAST that Nolan, with his million $ budget, gave Matt Damon ONLY 6 hair extensions. As a result, his hair did not blow around properly, & that ruined the film for her.

Look I know I am not saying anything new here but I am *raging* that a bunch of self-proclaimed 'feminists' are in fact doing the work of patriarchy by trying to force us all back to a place where women must conform to a narrow set of stereotyped standards. FUCK OFF. I LIVED THROUGH THE '90S.

As the EHRC CoP comes into effect today, I want to remind everyone that no, they haven't forgotten about the existence of trans men, and we do not come out of this unscathed. 13.45-49 permits refusing trans men access to women-only spaces and services if our presence would upset other service users

The most terrifying enshittification I've discovered has been learning that Microsoft Word documents no longer auto-save if you are not saving them to one of their own proprietary cloud services. I'm slapping control-S like it's 1999.

Bluesky oldheads will remember that brief period of time when the conservative trolls tried to storm the place and were flummoxed by the idea they would have to organically grow an audience and that someone who didn't want to talk to them could nuke every interaction they ever had from orbit

look, if fear of having everyone on the internet celebrate your death by bringing up every bad thing you’ve done is what it takes to stop people being cunts while they’re alive, i say let’s give it a go

Crime novelist Derek Raymond, whose memoir The Hidden Files I'm re-reading for the Patreon, came from the upper crust & was sent to Eton (he escaped at 16). His summation of the British upper class from which he came is memorable.

I thought that the way my forebears had evolved was truly abhorrent… my family reflected, in microcosm, the nauseating national tendency of the time, which can be summed up as: We have a nasty feeling that what we are doing is disgusting, so we'd better have a society in which disgusting is the right thing to be.'
