Gaming cons... Guys with the über large boardgame backpack: Always being aware of one's body space is SUPER important! Gents, it's nothing short of obnoxious and comes across as inconsiderate when you just whip fast with your backpack in the middle of the aisle.

At the hotel waiting to go to #Gencon. Made a video on the clock ⏰ app of how this will be the last con in which I'm also working 3 jobs. If you didn't know, I've been supporting kiddos with disabilities It's hard being a disabled person and watching schools do rather horrific things to kiddos.

It's been fascinating watching my last shedding of education world peel away as I go back to game design world. The teacher will never leave me. Nor my inner child. Many schools lately have been antithetical to the concept of playing in order to learn. Playing is good for your brain.

It is nice to create something with a thesis we care deeply about; it is so much more to see someone recognize and engage with it so eloquently. This one was designed by a bunch of forever children. May play never die.

I had a conversation with a colleague who thought New York schools were doing well. They aren't. At least not the entire state. You would be *mortified* how many schools are out of compliance with accommodations and modifications for kids with disabilities.

“This […] is D.V.C. slamming their glass down on the table and affirming, “We could do this all the time if we wanted to. We could just crank out perfect jewels.” It was already hard to argue with their design sensibilities. Turns out it’s also hard to argue with their sense of taste.” 💜

My review of Pacts from @dvcgames.bsky.social went up on @meeplemountain.com today. It is an exquisite two-player area-control game. I can't recommend it enough. www.meeplemountain.com/reviews/pacts/

I have a soulmate and I happened to have married her. Many people are not so lucky. Tangent: I reminded her it's fiddlehead season for foraging and cooking in our area and she got really excited. 🌿

Oh noooo I'm indoctrinating my child into... Using the appropriate toys to improve his fine and gross motor skills. Because that's all we queer parents and queer educators do. We indoctrinate. /S 🙄

If you're a creative person with a bleeding heart, know that you aren't alone. And often past you is getting in future you's way. We can't save the world if we don't also attempt to save us from ourselves.

Found this outside of the convention building at Origins You are loved. 💜 🌈 I'm not a religious person, but I think religious people should mind their own business about how other people form relationships and find happiness.
