She/her. Probably not witty enough for here either. Trying to do some good, mostly going to lots of plays. Unitarian Universalist, women’s 🏀 fan, youth advisor, sexuality educator, energy regulation professional

Was just thinking about Karen Bass being against street vendors and the idea that if vendors set up near a restaurant that is a problem. As if adults are going to a restaurant but see a taco stand first and say “this food is closer so you lose, restaurant”

“do you still want what we were giving you two days ago? have you considered enrolling in school? you’ll die before you pay off your loans. or, if your city has not defunded it to the point that it’s only open one hour every 3 days, you could go to the library—they can deal with your needy ass.”

Supporting readers who need more access
We know the 10-article limit will not fit every research project. Independent researchers and graduate students may need to consult many articles within a short period. Readers who regularly need more than 10 articles may have access through a school or library, and JPASS provides individual researchers with unlimited online reading, PDF downloads, and access to more journal content. Open and free content on JSTOR remains available to everyone without using the free-reading allowance.

jstor is cutting their monthly free article limit from 100 to TEN??? ten articles??? per month? I'm lucky that I have a real job now so I can just request permission to expense the extra $200 per year this change is going to cost me, but that's not the case for everyone who wants to learn!!!

By the way, this Attorney General Taylor who now disqualified from the November ballot due to errors in his financial documents? His office has been prosecuting this community of American Samoans in this article you may have seen me post this year:

Alaska officials gave false info to American Samoans, telling them they can vote. (They can’t, due to a unique status.) Now, the state is threatening them with years in prison, part of GOP’s voting fraud panic. @burness.bsky.social spent months reporting the story; spend some of your w-e with it.

Alaska's governor race has undergone even more turmoil than the other races. Not only did Tom Begich withdraw, but the (GOP) LG disqualified (GOP) AG Treg Taylor, who was was in 4th spot, due to issues in his financial disclosure. So Taylor is replaced by his running-mate Candice English.

Americans by Name, Punished for Believing It - Bolts

In a small Alaska town, American Samoans face prosecution for voting in the only country they’ve ever known. They live in a limbo, created by colonial expansion, that now confuses even public official...

I’m sure most of you aren’t watching the US Open right now which means you missed this instantly iconic moment, now available in gif form

“By the sweat of your face you shall eat USA Basketball, til you return to the #WNBA. For out of the W you were taken and to the W you shall return (but NOT YET).” Then she covered them in garments of red, white, & blue. -Kara Lawson puts her remaining FIBA squad on notice, aired in Genesis 3:19.

USA Basketball head coach Kara Lawson wearing a blue zip-up hoodie and with her hands on her hips addresses two USA basketball players whose backs are turned to us. One of them, to the right, is probably Sonia Citron. Lawson has a firm expression on her face like she’s scolding somebody or giving them stern directions.

Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy on BlueSky over one #WNBA player who reneges on their FIBA commitment than over ninety-nine players who never had a FIBA bid to renege on in the first place. -A true statement about some of y’all right now, written in Luke 15:7

Aja Wilson Aces

Alt: Las Vegas Aces player and FIBA renunciate A’ja Wilson sits beside Point Gawd Chelsea Gray (to her left) and Becky Hammon (to her right) at the media table following their 2025 WNBA Finals win. Wilson pulls green-black ski/champagne goggles down over her face as Gray and Hammon look on.

As for whoever causes these rookies who believe in me to trip and fall, it would be better for him to have a stone hung around his neck and be drowned in the Lake of the Isles. -Cheryl Reeve re: the guy who left his camera in the path of Point Apostle Olivia Miles, quoted in Matthew 18:6 #WNBA

It is better to hear the boos of the great counselors of #WNBASky than to hear the praise of fools.* -The ethics of booing addressed in Ecclesiastes 7:5. *”Fools” includes but is not necessarily limited to the Children of the Corn + TERFs + management.
