“I will only be in coalition with people who hate Netanyahu the appropriate amount, not too much” is a recipe for being politically irrelevant. At some point, you have to decide whether your priority is protecting Israel or changing its disastrous policies, and choose your allies accordingly.
If this is really true, I feel like you were not that motivated to protest in the first place. www.jta.org/2026/07/31/i...
Zohran Mamdani has made it impossible for liberal Zionists like me to protest Netanyahu's UN visit - Jewish Telegraphic Agency
Jews who want to rally against the Israeli prime minister now run the risk of appearing to align with New York's anti-Israel mayor, writes a former and aspiring protester.

In 2021, the governing-power Left got a weakened Cuomo at the front-end of the COVID pandemic to #TaxTheRich. This raised $10 billion (with a 🅱️) over the next 2 years. Instead of cowering before Hochul, Z must now switch his stance to an *oppositional* one—and trust the people will have his back.
Mamdani repeating some of my least favorite parts of Eric Adams budget moves: the budget dance (threatened deep cuts to libraries in his first draft budget and then reverse them in his second draft and call it a win), and now a second round of PEGs. (1/2) www.thecityreporter.nyc/2026/07/29/m...
July 27, 2026 — 40,000 New Yorkers Lost Their Protections Today — We are all going to be the worse off for TPS ending, and specifically Haitians in NYC. 40,000 New Yorkers are going to be losing protections, their work authorization and legal protections. www.thecityreporter.nyc/2026/07/27/l...

"...if Mamdani and municipal socialism can force the NYPD into a position between ICE and its targets, if it can prove that it is not deterred by legal formalisms that ICE violates on a daily basis, then it can lead the way on public resistance to ICE."
The End of TPS for Haitians Is A Moment of Truth for Zohran Mamdani
Will 'municipal socialism' stand by as ICE snatches, cages and deports tens of thousands of New Yorkers? Or will it resist?
