Making indie games and tools for content creators. Previous Works: Creator & programmer - Open Net Battle Co-producer - Lunar Lux https://github.com/TheMaverickProgrammer

i still currently believe that free and open-source software bundled with self-hosted options are the only sustainable path forward for content creators longterm we should be educating and sharing knowledge on these tools now more than ever

So why isn't Fox news televising interviews of all the happy people who live near data centers so we can hear what a treat it is to live with the constant noise, lights, increased utility costs and non-existent new jobs?

I don't know if my disposable income having disproportionately gone more toward books instead of video games this past year for the first time in my life says more about me or the current dire state of the video game industry, but uh.....yeah. lmao

Learning that Duck Duck Go let's you block specific sites from search results is a game changer for when you are looking for things and you don't want the first 10 results to be Amazon.

I’m not saying we’re in a recession, but I just saw a commercial for Eggo waffles that prioritized not its taste or nutritional value, but the fact that each one costs 40 cents.

I’m very happy to add metatables and meta methods support to my custom lua runtime! I’ve learned so much during this project writing it from scratch. On the left is my script and its output. On the right, my std print implementation details making use of __tostring lookup. 😺 #lua #compilers #pl

I am tired of reading something that is very fluent, then halfway through realising that I just read a paragraph that makes no damn sense because it wasn't written by a person. Extruded prose is a consent violation. I don't know why more people aren't viscerally disgusted by its publication.

I wrote a lua interpreter from scratch and I came across some interesting edge cases I missed. Multiple return args only fill one value at a time unless it’s the last expr in the evaluation order. Stranger, lua does not support multi-assignment as return values in group exprs. #lua #interpreters

Prime numbers as a classification of unique composability of objects can be applied to reduce a polynomial. According to the Prime Number Theorem, the odds of finding an irreducible polynomial with degree N is the same as finding a prime with N digits which is approx 1/N. #math #cryptography

The pattern of primes from 1-10 flips on number 7. 1 - prime (by definition) 2 - prime (by definition) 3 - prime 4 - not 5 - prime 6 - not 7 - prime 8 - not 9 - not 10 - not Spelled out by first letter P=Prime and N=Not PPPNPNPNNN See the pattern? I wonder if that is significant. #primes #math

I am exasperated with people accusing programmers of "gatekeeping" programming. We were practically dragging people through the gate. Do you know why a mindless LLM can tell you so much great programming information? It's because we've been sharing that information for free online for decades.

People start things and rarely finish them. I’m glad that I committed myself to say working on this project until it is done. I’m the primary and lead programmer for ONB. I will be retiring from the project this year after release of the next and final version.
