But must recall that "liberal democracy" hasn't worked for the growing numbers of non-unionized and gig workers filling the ranks of "reactionary populism"–so we must not idealize it either.

Anyway, here's an email I sent @UofCalifornia President Milliken and @UCBerkeley Chancellor Lyons, on their disgraceful decision to prematurely forward names to DOE for political harassment. UC faculty, staff, students *systemwide* are in peril. Terrible, self-defeating choice.
Where is the doleful mourning of the punditry? In terms of magnitude, any which way they look at this, it exceeds any single tragedy by exactly thousands of levels.
