Progressive messaging at ASO Communications. Previously Trans Law Center. Perpetually tired. Love fiercely, fuck the fascists.

The pedophile protector regime wants to force kids to beg for their lives alone in immigration court. Call your Member of Congress, tell them to demand HHS pay what they owe the lawyers representing 20,000 unaccompanied kids & let them keep doing their jobs. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

Last thing on yesterday’s Edsall piece: had I known he was also pushing this on immigration and crime, I’d have had LOTS more to say (with more research to back it up). Publishing that after ICE had just murdered 2 dads in the span of a week… is something. (He only asked me about trans people.)

Already seeing advice from punditocracy that Dems ought to tack to the right to (ironically) raise the saliency and affirm the positions of Republicans on so-called "cultural issues." Let's ask Keir Starmer how well this worked - I hear he has loads of free time.

Can we all agree that before listening to NYT opinion (or WaPo) columnist on what Dems need to do to win, they have to show they have at least 1 Dem electoral or policy win in the past 5 years? Otherwise, it’s as useful as a fart. Everyone has one, no one wants to hear it, and it stinks.

Gah! Forgot to add caveat that this study analyzes elections across many different countries and focuses on EU context, not US. I personally think that strengthens the point — how this strategy fails everywhere — but it’s true it doesn’t show this one way or the other for the US

First and foremost, this study of over 100 elections across 4 decades, finding that “accommodative (adopting anti-immigrant positions) policy shifts” by center-left parties “tend to do more good than harm to the radical right." www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

Amazing how many people over the last few years have moved from person I sometimes disagree with, to person I disagree with who is also unpleasant online, to genuinely bad person whose soul has warped beyond recognition. the politics of our times are like a solvent for decency.

Protests erupted on Wednesday in Nashville as Republicans in Tennessee raced to slice up their state's sole Democratic district covering the majority-Black city of Memphis. Mother Jones’s @garrisonhayes.bsky.social is on the ground at the State Capitol covering the upheaval:

Perhaps Magyar's most important promise, and the one that certainly resonates with voters: "never again a country without consequences!" The crowd chants: "To prison! To prison!" [with the corrupt officials of the outgoing government]

What's more shocking than ICE's plan to cram as many 8,500 humans into massive, soul-crushing warehouses? Seeing the actual DHS floor plan that echoes slavery ships and history's worst gulags with no rec space but a gun range for guards My new column on the camps www.inquirer.com/opinion/ice-...

An internal Department of Homeland Security document shows how ICE plans to cram thousands of detained human beings inside a Georgia warehouse.
