Our review on glial orchestration of neurodevelopment is online at @cp-devcell.bsky.social! Great fun working with Krissy Sakers and Pat Sheehan from the Eroglu and Schafer labs, and special thanks to first author Krissy for her tremendous work bringing this to fruition! www.cell.com/developmenta...

Glia orchestrate neural circuit development

In this review, Sakers et al. discuss how astrocytes, microglia, and oligodendrocyte lineage cells actively regulate neural circuit formation, refinement, and stabilization. They propose that coordina...

It was great to deliver this Keynote at #AstrocyteCafe2026 . It was probably my longest discussion ever. I'm still impressed with the quality of the students and postdocs attending this meeting. The future of #astrocyte research is secured!

What a great day full of science and #astrocytes. Best thing? Early career researchers giving inspiring talks and lots of stimulating discussions during breaks. Also @joaofoliveira.bsky.social delivered the most fun and amazing keynote lecture🤩

Astrocytes do so much more than any of us thought - they even communicate among specific brain regions across hemispheres! The journey to this paper spanned nearly a decade, but I'm most excited to see what everyone else does with the tools we've built. There's so much for all of us to explore!
