“Desktop operating system” is marketing BS. It’s just a programming environment. They don’t change much, bc they can’t. What *actually* matters are your apps. People tolerate windows bc they are convinced they need Office & outlook. When there are comfortable & compatible alts, it’s game over.

I'm not sure folks have realized just how crazy the second half of 2026 and 2027 will be for global temperatures – on the back of a record-smashing El Niño event. Here is my latest estimate of where both years will end up compared to global temperatures since 1850.

New from me: Until recently, the gap between comfortably-off and just-getting-started could plausibly be crossed in a decade or two of hard work. Growth in asset prices means that’s no longer true: even a lifetime of striving doesn’t offer a realistic prospect of feeling you’ve “made it”.

Its a huge stretch, but imagine what a tragic character potus is. He desperately wants to be revered as a heroic & beloved leader. He gets the opportunity handed to him on a platter w/CV19, but he's too psychically damaged to do the right thing. Instead, he kills 100's of thousands. Shakespearean.

CV19 killed friends of mine & traumatized others. My buddy in Queens had semi trailer ‘morgues’ lined up around his block. Or my bandmate's spouse who was counceling victims at the triage center in Central Park. I can’t begin to imagine what the ER/ICU staffs went through. They cannot erase this.
