"One of the great journalists of our time at a venerable institution for investigative journalism... Joe Patrice at Above the Law" -- Judge William Pryor (Somehow I think he might’ve not meant that earnestly)

While Blanche claims the settlement is dead, Trump spent the weekend making it clear it's totally alive. He's fighting for it in court and on social media. And Blanche's document only rescinds the order officially setting up the fund. It doesn't change the settlement itself.

Data Center: We need a compelling, popular politician that the people of Wisconsin will trust to pitch our plan PR Firm: We have a deeply unpopular former mayor from another state who was driven from office under the cloud of a federal criminal probe. Data Center: Say less!

A video taken Saturday shows former NYC Mayor Eric Adams in sales pitch mode in Wisconsin Rapids, as he's heckled by residents opposed to the data center he's trying to sell them on. "My name is Eric Adams," he begins, as the boos begin to rain down. "You belong in prison!" one attendee shouts.

Under US law, it is nearly impossible for a person to file a civil rights lawsuit against an individual federal agent. But an increasing number of people harmed by ICE and DHS agents are filing tort claims: demanding monetary compensation from the federal government for what has been done to them.

“The ICE agent behind me grabbed the back of my shirt and just threw me like a sack of trash”

People keep suing the agency for beating them up.

Does Ross Douthat have the charm and telegenic appeal that makes him an obvious choice for primetime television? Of course no. But does he demonstrate the sort of journalistic rigor and depth of insight we expect from a 60 Minutes contributor? Again, absolutely not, no.

President Trump had (loudly) promised that he would ask #SCOTUS to grant rehearing of its June 30 decision blocking his executive order purporting to limit birthright citizenship. The deadline for such a request was yesterday—and ... crickets.
