Fascinating interview with Robert Kagan, where he says that the biggest mistake of the Iraq war was that it permanently crippled the American public's conceptualization of their country's role in the world, and then admits that America is exceedingly Islamophobic and this informs foreign policy.

Robert Kagan: Sometimes US intervention is worth blowback

In a wide-ranging interview with RS, the hawkish historian talks primacy, neoconservatives, and why he opposes the war in Iran

Everyone’s expectations got skewed over the past week but Abdul El-Sayed getting $70 million spent against him in a state he lost a primary by like 20 points eight years ago and still winning last night is probably the most impressive electoral accomplishment of the decade.

Always with you people. If the rightmost candidate in the race wins, no matter the margin, it's a "stunning mandate" and a sign of a "massive cultural shift". If a left candidate wins, no matter the margin, it's a sign that they need to "pivot to center" and "unite the fractured public".

The media's takeaway from an El-Sayed win is the same as it would have been from a Stevens win, and the same as it will be if El-Sayed wins the general, or if he loses it: everyone, no matter who they are, needs to take several steps to the right.

In my recent quest to try every American food that I've been seeing in movies and TV for years, I recently had southern-style biscuits and gravy and I have just two questions: 1. Y'all eat this for BREAKFAST? 2. How do you not eat this for every meal of the day?

A lot of people on here remain bitter about the version of Uncommitted they made up in their heads while high profile members of the actual Uncommitted are becoming mayors, state senators, members of Congress and maybe even part of the US Senate. In some cases, with establishment support.

Under-discussed Michigan politics story is that a co-founder of Uncommitted is about to become the Democratic nominee for a seat to the State Senate with the backing of Governor Whitmer

State Senate candidate Abbas Alawieh of Dearborn, cofounder of the Uncommitted movement and ex-chief of staff to Rep. Cori Bush, gave a passionate speech Sunday at the annual Arbaeen procession in Dearborn, declaring in Arabic: I’m American.

Left- IDF blocks ambulance in West Bank. They shoot Palestinians, then seal off medical access so they bleed to death. Right- Israel killed the child, Rateel Abdullah and left her sister in critical condition. Raseel Abdulah is now fighting for her life.

Almost *everything* you see in this format, whether infinite power cubes or solar powered houses for the homeless that fold out of suitcases or French "bread libraries" for the poor is liberal catnip bullshit by content farms. Stop being idiots. Thank you.

The Challenger disaster was a horrible tragedy, but I remember it was so shocking because catastrophe under NASA was so rare. This never-ending procession of privatised space rockets exploding every other week is making it mundane. Privatisation is shit.

If Iran wants to "kill all jews" and "destroy israel", how come they haven't killed the approx 10,000 jews living in Iran, currently. Also, given the impressive firepower they have, why haven't they already destroyed israel, they've demonstrated their ability. Why?
