Jerry Dammers just played a killer killer killer James Brown instrumental I've never heard before. Organ and guitar-led - and laden with horns. An early cut for sure. I will now never rest until I own this tune. Please feel VERY free to post any candidates below

Never been a Beatles fan boy- so never sat down to listen to the George Harrison album. Until yesterday. Loving it. A lot. Apparently it's all the songs that Lennon and McCartney basically rejected. Some lovely stuff imo. I keep rewinding 'Hear Me Lord' in particular

Is “pragmatic” the new, “grown up” word? Andy, there’s nothing “pragmatic” about drilling for more oil & gas - to even consider it with the planet literally on fire is total madness. How many times must we say it will do nothing for energy bills or security? It would be an act of utter recklessness

Here you go, @johnbaldy.bsky.social Not sure if I've got the brief quite right, but here is the sound of folk & country music getting strange. I had to stop at around 1974 as I was already 5 hours in! Hope you like it. open.spotify.com/playlist/0b0...

@nportnell.bsky.social By any chance, do you have a handy playlist that would be in the middle of a Venn diagram of folk, country and psychedelia? I know you know loads of great stuff I don't - and you've already introduced me to so much great music - so my fingers are tightly crossed.

Just bought tickets for this #reggae at the weekend. Looking forward to it. Jerry Dammers should play quite a deep selection - I'm hoping so anyway. Don't really know the other acts yet - other than Misty In Roots

Nigel Farage, Donald Trump, Kemi Badenoch and Unite the Union are actively pushing for more fires more soon. Presumaably they are not yet satisfied with the level of devastation and the insane financial and societal cost. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I know Andy Burnham recently ruled out an early election but he must be increasingly tempted. If Farage's majority decreases against Binface in Clacton, then NF is surely political toast. I've put a speculative fiver on a GE this year.

I honestly can’t believe that my old friend Boy George has made an overtly pro-genocide, anti-Palestinian piece of musical propaganda… George, you should be ashamed - I hope you think the money was enough to sell your soul… vile and poisonous
