How do we move? I study brains and machines at York University (Assistant Professor). Full-time human. Neural Control & Computation Lab www.ncclab.ca

What's the difference between having an answer to a puzzle versus feeling like we understand it? Lea @leaduncker.bsky.social and I chatted about about the discipline of staying with hard questions, making "breathing room" in academia, and how to tailor statistical tools for neuroscience.

Our latest profile is here! Dr. Lea Duncker (@leaduncker.bsky.social) uses statistical and theoretical approaches to study the neural basis of flexible behavior. Follow the link below to learn more! #StoriesOfWiN #WomenInNeuroscience www.storiesofwin.org/profiles/202...

What if motion tracking didn't require expensive tools? Drs. @jonathanamichaels.bsky.social and Mulla developed ATHENA, open-source AI that captures natural movement without wearable sensors. Moving research from labs to clinics to communities. Read more:

You're watching a Crested Coua chick (Coua cristata) being fed at the Miami Zoo. The chick's outside appearance is ... unfortunate, but I want to focus on the weird 'targets' in the mouth. That's the coua's response to the problem of brood parasitism. Let's talk about it.

Many of the scientific questions we're interested in tackling require studying learning over long periods of time across the brain. This is challenging – which is why we're excited to say we've been developing a system for chronic wireless recording using long Neuropixels probes in macaque monkeys.

We've finally started moving into our brand new neuroscience facility! 🥳 So excited to be getting into this beautiful space after a long construction period. Be on the lookout for our exciting science – and photos of my new office once I finish interior designing it 👀.
